On July 16th, Joseph Sturdivant was being treated in the back of an ambulance by EMTs for a medical issue. For some unknown reason he jumped out of the back of the vehicle and ran into some nearby woods near Fairview Point Road and has not been seen since despite on-going efforts to locate him by the Bossier Sheriff’s Office.

On July 4, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G was notified of a vehicle crash involving a truck and a man operating a lawnmower at his residence. Henderson to serve life-plus prison term
A Shreveport woman who shot her husband and then doused his body with gasoline must serve life in prison, and then some, a Caddo district judge has ruled. Charlene Henderson, 45, found guilty in June of the May 16, 2022 second-degree murder of Larry Clark, also 45, was sentenced Tuesday, July 16, 2024 to the mandatory life term by District Judge John D. Mosely Jr.. She was sentenced to another 20 years in prison, to be served consecutively, for conviction of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Louisiana caretaker found guilty of shaking toddler to death
SHREVEPORT, La. (TCN) -- A woman has been convicted of killing a toddler she was caring for in her home in 2020. The Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office announced that a jury found 42-year-old Tatianna Burns guilty on Thursday, July 11, of second-degree murder in connection with the death of an 18-month-old child, identified by the Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate as Angel Wong. Burns is set to appear in court again on July 23 and faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.

The Center for Children and Families is celebrating its 25th anniversary of helping communities in Louisiana and Mississippi. The Center has provided counseling, education and advocacy to thousands of families throughout its 25 years. The organization has grown from a small Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program in Monroe to a nationally recognized organization that serves over 4,000 clients a year.
