Drivers and Fans: Racing action returns to the Jamestown Speedway on Saturday night, July 13th @ 7:00 PM with all regular classes back in racing action and an appearance by the Superior Customs Red River Sprint Car Series in Jamestown on Saturday night. After three straight rainouts, we are ready for some nice weather and get back on the track with racing action. We will have the IMCA Sprint Cars in Jamestown as part of the Red River Sprint Car series for the 1st of 2 weekends of sprint cars in Jamestown. It is also Kids Race Night and we will have several giveaways for our junior race fans. Come out Saturday night!

About 80 people overtook Aurora’s City Council meeting Monday, causing the mayor to recess the meeting three times in an effort to bring about order. The council then agreed to extend public invited to be heard beyond the one-hour time limit. The speakers showed up to chide the City Council for not punishing the officer that shot and killed Kilyn Lewis. Lewis was a suspect in a crime which is why police approached him. Body camera footage released by the Aurora Police Department showed Lewis did not have a gun and repeatedly yelled “I don’t have nothing!” with his hands in the air. Despite this, officer Michael Dieck killed him with a single shot from his rifle. Lewis never had more than a cell phone in his hand, the video showed.

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 6, 2024) – Scott Bogucki won an electric feature Saturday at the Nolan Wren Memorial Presented by Higher View Enterprise, Inc. at the Knoxville Raceway. The driver from McLaren Vale in South Australia shot by Aaron Reutzel coming for the white flag to win $6,000 aboard the Liebig Motorsports #10. Sawyer Phillips nailed down the 360 main event. It was the fourth win in the class for the Pleasantville, Iowa native, but the first in seven years. Altoona’s Chase Young won for the second time this year in the Pro Sprints class, and the fourth time in his career.

Hailie Deegan’s partnership with AM Racing has come to an end. On Monday morning, the two sides announced they have parted ways during the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, effective immediately. AM Racing replaced Deegan with Joey Logano during the Xfinity Series race at the Chicago Street Course, which resulted in an eighth-place finish.
Deegan has really struggled in the No. 15 Xfinity car. In 2024, she had a best finish of 12th place at Talladega Superspeedway, with five straight finishes of 25th place or worse. Entering Chicago, the 22-year-old driver sat 27th in the point standings, the worst of any driver who had made every start throughout the 2024 NASCAR season at that point.
Now, the Xfinity Series organization will look for its next driver as it moves forward without her in its plans. As for Deegan, her plans are uncertain but she does hope to be back at the race track “soon.” Deegan and AM Racing’s partnership only lasted 17 Xfinity Series races before changes were made heading into Chicago last weekend.
