Body found in Illinois River near Bartonville
BARTONVILLE, Ill. – The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office and the Peoria County Coroner’s Office are investigating the discovery of a body found in the Illinois River. Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins says a fisherman found the body around 9:32 a.m. Saturday near the 7000 block of S. Adam Street in Bartonville about 300 yards from the Shade-Lohmann Bridge near the Peoria Lock and Dam. The body was on the Peoria County side of the river and was caught on the dam.

PEORIA (25News Now) -At approximately 12:01 AM, the Peoria Fire Department responded to the 700 block of Caroline St. for a house on fire. Once on scene, fire crews reported light smoke coming from the roof of a two-story residential home. As the crew was upstairs, they reported smoke and fire in the bedroom. The fire was swiftly extinguished and brought under control.

A home in Peoria Heights caught fire early Friday morning after a blaze that began in a trash can due to fireworks spread to it. According to the Peoria Heights Fire Department, they were alerted to 924 East Wilson Avenue at 12:51 a.m. after they received a report of a trash can on fire. Firefighters received word en route that the blaze had spread to an adjacent home.
