QUINCY - Quincy's animal shelter didn't hold back in its real-life display of the psychological damage fireworks do to animals. Over the weekend, the shelter says one of its dogs ripped out some of its claws while trying to escape her kennel in a panic. Based on the photo of the dog's kennel afterwards, it appeared the canine left behind a substantial amount of blood from her injuries. The animal shelter is asking the public at large to not light off fireworks prior to Independence Day for the sake of their animals' sanity.
