EPPING — One person was killed in a head-on collision on Route 125 near the Pondside Motel, according to Epping police.

Epping Police Lt. Stephen Soares said police responded to Route 125 at 1 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a head-on motor vehicle crash with serious injuries.

Police said a preliminary investigation revealed a 2007 Nissan Frontier, driven by Amanda Wager, 31, of New Boston, was traveling southbound on Route 125 when her vehicle crossed into the northbound land, crashing into a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek.

Wager was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of Subaru, Jacob Wallingford, 24 of Rochester, was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the crash remains under investigation. They said it is unknown if alcohol and speed played a factor in the accident.

Epping police were assisted by the Epping Fire Department, New Hampshire State Police, and police and firefighters from Brentwood and Lee.

The Epping Police Department is asking anyone with information about the accident to call Epping police Lt. Stephen Soares at 603-679-5122 or s.soares@eppingnh.gov.
