Five-star safety prospect Trey McNutt announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks on Friday. The 6-foot, 183-pound safety committed to the Ducks over Florida, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and USC.

McNutt, a native of Shaker Heights, Ohio, started as both safety and wide receiver in his junior season with Shaker Heights High School. He recorded 61 total tackles, three tackles for loss, 12 pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles. He also posted 611 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on offense.

McNutt is the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the class of 2025. He also ranks as the No. 1 safety and No. 2 prospect in Ohio, according to On3's Industry Rankings .

Following McNutt's commitment, Oregon's 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 5 nationally and No. 2 in the Big Ten . He is the third five-star prospect to join Oregon's 2025 class, joining wide receivers Dakorien Moore and Dallas Wilson. The Ducks will now have a total of 15 pledges throughout its impressive 2025 class.

The commitment is also a massive recruiting victory, as the program grabs one of Ohio's top prospects in a region traditionally known to favor Ohio State.

McNutt's father, Richard McNutt, won the 2002 national championship as a cornerback at Ohio State and was a three-year letter winner with the Buckeyes.
