EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Purple Aces picked up two D-1 transfers in the portal this offseason. Now they are on the floor in offseason workouts with the rest of the team.

Tayshawn Comer is a junior guard out of Eastern Kentucky. He had 68 appearances for the Colonels in his two years there, while averaging eight points per game.

Then there’s Butler’s Connor Turnbull. The 6’10” forward shot over 42% in both his previous two years with the Bulldogs.

Both players said that watching the success in year two of David Ragland leading the program influenced their transfer decision.

“I had been watching him as he did great things with Evansville. It was a no-brainer,” said Turnbull.

“Changing from a program that wasn’t winning to winning now. I want to be a part of that,” said Comer.

The Purple Aces will be announcing their non-conference schedule in the coming week.
