    Struggle with Evansville police leads to arrest

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A man was arrested in Evansville Friday after police say we was tased twice and evaded an officer on foot.

    Officials with the Evansville police department say Donald Ross was involved in a hit and run near Ravenswood Drive.

    An affidavit obtained by Eyewitness News says Ross was uncooperative with the responding officer. The affidavit goes on to say that Ross attempted to leave the scene after calling someone to pick him up. An officer then stopped him and informed ross he was not going anywhere.

    The affidavit says that once the officer tried to put Ross in handcuffs, he resisted. Ross then grabbed the front of the officer’s vest and shoved him. The officer the escorted him to the ground, but Ross was able to get to his feet.

    According to the Affidavit, Ross attempted to charge the officer twice. The officer both times tased him. Ross then fled on foot evading the officer.

    After an investigation Ross was found in a basement on Washington Avenue and arrested.
