Fairfield: Witnesses And Police Revive Woman With No Pulse Who Nearly Drowned

Fairfield police said Friday some quick thinking and well-performed CPR saved a woman submerged in a pool for at least five minutes.

Around 8 p.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Alaska Avenue regarding a possible drowning victim.

Arriving officers found a man already pulled a 45-year-old woman from the bottom of a pool and another woman was performing CPR on the victim, who had no pulse.

The woman said the victim was in the water for at least five minutes.

Police said officers Mayrani Mojica, Kody Kennedy and Jasmine Penatetook over as a team, each performing CPR multiple times before firefighters arrived.

Paramedics were eventually able to gain a pulse.

Later at the hospital, paramedics and medical staff told police the quick actions of the witnesses and Fairfield police officers very likely saved the victim's life.
