Polson commission authorizes PILT agreement with S&K Gaming
The Polson City Commission unanimously approved a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) agreement with S&K Gaming during its regular meeting Monday. The agreement covers a new casino slated for development by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes on a 79-acre parcel of tribal land located across the Flathead River. The casino, bordered by Hwy. 93 and Irvine Flats Road, will occupy about 10 acres of the property, and is part of a multi-phase development that could eventually include a hotel, low-cost housing and an RV Park.

406 Rodeo focused on the future of rodeo
It was supper time for the 406 Rodeo bucking bulls, horses and ponies at the Polson rodeo grounds. Spotted, black, grey, bay and brown animals all stared at a big bale of hay on the other side of the fence, drawn as if to a tasty green magnet. Mission Mountain Rodeo draws good crowd
Audience members flocked to the Mission Mountain Rodeo on Friday and Saturday nights. Attendance was up, according to Polson Fairgrounds Inc. secretary Una Rose Graham. Feel That? Earthquake Rattles Parts Of Western Montana
Fireworks weren't the only thing shaking windows in western Montana as the Treasure State celebrated the 4th of July Holiday. Reports from the USGS (United States Geological Survey), say a 3.9 magnitude earthquake occurred near Seely Lake at 4:46 early Friday morning. The earthquake was located 23 miles east, northeast of Seely Lake, and 48 miles from Missoula.

SEELEY LAKE, Mont. - An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 was reported near Seeley Lake Friday. The earthquake's epicenter was located 23 kilometers east-northeast of Seeley Lake, according to the United States Geological Survey. No damage from the quake has been reported.
