2 injured after pickup truck hits 2 mobile homes in Harnett County
Two people were injured overnight after a pickup truck crashed into two mobile homes in Harnett County.It happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Lillington Flatwoods Fire Department was called to the 2200 block of Titan Roberts Road in Erwin.Upon arrival, units found a pickup truck had traveled off the road and hit two mobile homes.According to investigators, the pickup was traveling west on Titan Roberts Rd and failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle crossed over Ross Road before traveling off the roadway. It hit the first mobile home and then hit the second one about 300 feet away.Authorities said the driver of the pickup was speeding.As a result of the crashes, one mobile home -- which was vacant -- had the end ripped off, exposing the inside.The second mobile home was knocked off the foundation. The two residents were inside at the time of the crash.Both were displaced and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital for treatment.The driver was charged with failing to stop for a stop sign, speeding and careless and reckless driving.
Driver in custody after leading NC authorities on chase through multiple counties
A driver is in custody after leading authorities on a chase through multiple counties.It started in Dunn when U.S. Marshals tried to pull a Chevrolet Camaro. The suspect kept driving, leading authorities on a chase into Harnett County and then Cumberland County.The chase ended in Godwin where the suspect bailed and ran from the car.The driver was caught and taken into custody. 2nd arrest after Fayetteville police involved in 3 drug raids in one day
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — Police in Fayetteville Friday announced an arrest in the third drug raid that officers conducted in one day last week. On Thursday, officers revealed a man was arrested after two search warrants at two homes on July 18 led to the discovery of 815 grams of fentanyl, along with cocaine, and two guns, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
Name released of Fayetteville employee killed in ATV wreck Thursday
The identity of a city worker killed in an ATV accident Thursday morning was released by police Friday afternoon. Joseph Mial, 55, died after the all-terrain vehicle he was operating struck a fence around 6:30 a.m. at Fisher Road and Lakeway Drive, according to the Fayetteville Police Department. At the time of the accident, Mial was collecting trash, presumably for the city. The Police Department did not say what city department he worked for. Mial was pronounced dead at the scene. Thierno Barry runs a gas station near Cliffdale Road and Bunce Road in Fayetteville. Many of his customers live in nearby neighborhoods, don’t have cars, and walk across four lanes of traffic on Cliffdale to the store.
