FALL RIVER — The Herald News kicks off Spring All-Scholastics with boys volleyball all-stars.

Durfee was the lone team in the Greater Fall River area. The Hilltoppers enjoyed a great season in 2024, finishing with a 14-8 record. Durfee punched its ticket to the postseason and even won a Division I preliminary matchup with Everett.

No one on the Hilltoppers had a season like senior Chris Milford, who was named the Herald News Boys Volleyball Player of the Year.

The Herald News is pleased to announce the 2024 Spring All-Scholastics volleyball all-stars from Greater Fall River:

    Player of the Year

    Chris Milfort, Durfee

Statistically, Milford had one of the greatest seasons in Hilltopper history. He finished the year with 397 kills, which was one of the tops in the state. Milford, who finished his career with over 600 kills, had a team-leading 256 digs, team-leading 29 aces and 11 blocks. The Durfee senior is a two-time team Most Valuable Player and a two-time Southeast Conference All-Star. Milford will play college volleyball at Division III Curry College.

    First Team

    Daniel Matuszek, Durfee

Matuszak, a four-year starter, switched from middle blocker to setter in 2024. He collected the most assists in a single season for a Durfee setter with 642 assists. Matuszek, who was named co-MVP, had 14 aces and was the floor general for a very good hitting team. He was an SEC All-Star and a league all-star second team in 2023.

    Josh Sanon, Durfee

Sanon was the biggest surprise for the Hilltoppers in the 2024 season. He was one of the top hitters in the SEC, finishing the year with one of the league’s best 223 kills. In three full seasons, Sanon amassed over 500 career kills. He was the team's sportsmanship award winner and was an SEC All-Star.

    Second team

    Braeden Bartley, Durfee

    Lucas DeCampos, Durfee

    Elias DaSilva, Durfee

    JO Olubanwo, Durfee
