Performers will encompass a range that includes traditional music, indie folk, classical, acoustic roots rock, brass bands, contemporary, dance, jazz, and more.

After the success of last year’s festival, this year’s event is expanding the number of indoor and outdoor stages.

Some participants include: Destination Soups, turned comfy house concert locale; Pour Farm Tavern turned retro speakeasy; the Bristol Building concert space; and April Evans Beauty Lounge. Cafe Arpeggio will also participate this year, as a marquee acoustic music room. A third outdoor stage will offer larger, dance-friendly bands.

Musical acts and genres include Molly O’Leary, the Southcoast Brass Band, Aoife Clancy, Eddie Dillon, the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, the El Caribe steel drum ensemble, Hot Club Cheese Roll, Carl Simmons, Amilton Tavares’ Cape Verdean dance music, Rancho Folclorico’s Portuguese dance, shape note singing, Irish, old time, bluegrass, Caribbean drumming, Quebecois ensembles, and Americana.

The culminating event, “Moving Canvas Moving Forward,” will present moving panoramas by local visual artists, in the tradition of the historical piece, “Grand Panorama of a Whaling Voyage ‘Round the World,” housed at the Whaling Museum. Panoramas will be presented with simultaneous musical performances, directly tied to the individual pieces.
