As fireworks displays get more expensive, Wisconsin communities see scaled-back, canceled shows
It’s time to celebrate Independence Day, and for a lot of families in Wisconsin, that means heading to a local fireworks show. While large-scale public fireworks displays are a popular holiday attraction, cities around the state are struggling to keep up with the rising costs of putting on Fourth of July festivities.

One Vehicle Rollover Crash in Bagley
On July 5, 2024 at 5:45 A.M., Spencer Meyer-Steiger, age 19 of Bloomington, was driving his 2017 Dodge Ram truck north on Gasner Hollow. Rd in Wyalusing Township, when he was driving too fast on the gravel for a left curve. Meyer-Steiger failed to keep his vehicle under control while negotiating the curve. Meyer-Steiger drove into the east ditch, down a steep embankment, struck some large rocks and rolled the truck. The truck came to rest on the driver’s side. Meyer-Steiger was wearing his seat belt and received a minor hand injury. Meyer-Steiger was cited for Driving too fast for Conditions. B&M’s Towing of Bloomington removed the truck from the scene, which was a total loss.
