A ‘family-friendly, casual’ eatery: Myles on Main opens in the Preston House
A new “family-oriented” restaurant is now open across from the Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead. Myles on Main, downtown Riverhead’s newest eatery, opened on June 29 in the Preston House & Hotel on East Main Street. The restaurant is within the restored historic home, which was built in 1905 by local Civil War hero Henry Preston, Suffolk County’s first full-time sheriff. In 2018, the house was renovated and improved with a 20-room boutique hotel by Hyatt Place and aquarium developer Joseph Petrocelli.

Local Dancers Win National Championship
Royale Nova Performing Arts, a Center Moriches-based ensemble of tenacious dancers, won the Starbound 2024 National Dance Championship in Atlantic City. George Eleazer, a prominent and experienced dancer and studio owner from Sagaponack, coached his girls well to thrive freely throughout the competition alongside Franco LaGrega, who composed three of the winning choreography pieces. Also involved were a host of alumni returning to instill the 7- to 17-year-old dancers with technique, poise and passion over several months, training five days a week.

Sara and her sister Zan Young, the duo behind Elliott Interiors, understood the mission intimately because Quogue was their happy place, too.
