Girl Scout Troop 3255 of Florence recently put a big smile on the faces of cancer patients at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center by donating 170 boxes of its cookies.

At the troop’s request, the boxes will be given to patients in the infusion area in honor of troop member Juliet Crofton’s mom, Lindsay Radcliffe. She is currently being treated for breast cancer at Banner MD Anderson.

The 12 girls in the troop, all between the ages of 5 and 7, came up with the idea to donate to Banner MD Anderson all on their own.

“These girls have not only greatly lifted my spirits but have also lifted the spirits of the others who happen to be here for treatment,” Radcliffe stated in a press release. “This act of kindness has meant so much to me. This cancer journey is not an easy one, but moments like these make it better. These girls are absolutely amazing!”

Radcliffe also stated that Troop 3255 has been instrumental throughout her cancer journey for their constant support, for taking great care of her daughter, and for many encouraging moments that make her days better, such as this donation.

“These girls may be young, but they have shown such selflessness and thoughtfulness in deciding to donate to us. We couldn’t be more grateful,” stated Lisa Law, associate director of volunteer services at Banner MD Anderson and Banner Gateway Medical Center. “I know how uplifting this will be for our infusion patients in particular.”
