Italian Restaurant In New Haven Is Backdrop For New Mafia Movie

A New Haven, Connecticut restaurant is backdrop for a new action film coming out in late 2024, early 2025. The Italian restaurant and bar Portofino’s New Haven has served as a backup for a movie scene in the mafia movie Nadia’s Request. Located at 937 State Street in the pizza capitol of the world, New Haven. With more than 20 years experience the owner at Portofino's embraced the Hollywood experience of having a movie filmed on their premisis, but are still dedicated to creating their delicious Italian cuisine for all their loyal patrons.

The filming schedule, which took place in late February, will also include scenes at a private residence in Monroe and a Wallingford Toyota Dealership as well. As stated on the WTNH website ''Dana Wine, the director and lead actress, says it’s an action movie. “A truckload was intercepted by the Russian mafia, so the cartel is looking to get their money,” Wine said. Wine is a Connecticut native, as are cast members from areas including Monroe, Bridgeport, and Bristol. “We’ve gotten a lot of locations [in Connecticut] that I thought are just, ‘God bless,’ that people just don’t usually get for a movie,” said Pauly Popolizio, movie writer and actor. “The people here are so helpful, and it’s just great, great people here in Connecticut,” said actor Robert Miano.''
