'Make a Difference' in Florence

It’s that time of year when Florence residents can be the best of neighbors.

The town’s Community Services department is recruiting volunteers, organizations and project ideas for Make a Difference Day 2024.

Make a Difference Day will take place from 7 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19.

Florence Makes a Difference Day offers a variety of projects for residents and volunteers to participate in from local clean-up to beautification. Projects may include cleaning, painting, collecting litter, digging, planting and more.

The town will be holding an in-person kickoff event starting at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sep. 10 at the Viney Jones Library & Community Center, 778 N. Main St. During the kick-off event residents can offer ideas for Make a Difference Day projects.

Those interested in participating in a project must register by Sunday, Sept. 29.
