Utica woman arrested in Whitesboro Street stabbing
UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Utica woman was arrested on Sunday morning after she stabbed another woman on Whitesboro Street, according to Utica Police. Officers were called to the 1400 block of Whitesboro Street at approximately 1:55 am on Sunday morning. Upon their arrival, officers learned that a fight had allegedly broken out between the suspect — later identified as 28-year-old Janay Hymes of Utica — and another female victim. However, police say both the victim and Hymes had fled the scene before their arrival.

Utica man found guilty on weapons charges
UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A jury has found a Utica man guilty of firearms charges after three days of deliberation in Oneida County Court. Asad Mohamed was arrested in March of 2023 of second-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, as well as Criminal Possession of a Firearm. Since his arrest, two counts of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon have been added to the charges. The third degree weapons charges are both Class D Violent Felonies.
