Autopsy: Fort Campbell soldier stabbed dozens of times

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An autopsy report for a Fort Campbell Soldier has been released after she was found dead at a Clarksville apartment complex on May 18.

Police announced a homicide investigation following the death of 23-year-old Pfc. Katia Duenas-Aguilar, a soldier originally from Mesquite, Texas. She was found inside of a residence on Tiny Town Road.

An autopsy report revealed Duenas-Aguilar was found with 68 sharp force injuries on her body, predominantly in the neck. Her official cause of death was sharp force injuries to the neck, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

The report also noted that Duenas-Aguilar had a blood alcohol content of .161. Gamma-Hydroxybutyric, or GHB, was also found in her system.

Duenas-Aguilar was a young mother and well loved by the military community. She entered the active-duty Army as an Information Technology Specialist in 2018. She completed basic combat training at Fort Eisenhower in Georgia, and reported to Fort Campbell in 2019. Duenas-Aguilar’s was awarded with two Army Achievement Medals, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.

The League of United Latin American Citizens previously announced a $25,000 reward for information in the case.

The Clarksville Police Department is working with Army Criminal Investigation Agents on the case, although CPD remains the lead investigative agency. No arrests have been announced.
