Fire danger rises as Casper area remains hot, dry through Thursday
CASPER, Wyo. — A fire weather watch will go into effect on Thursday as Natrona County continues to see very high temperatures and dry conditions. According to the National Weather Service in Riverton, the watch goes into effect from Thursday morning through Thursday evening, with fire conditions exacerbated by potentially gusty afternoon winds and near-record high temperatures in parts of Natrona and Johnson counties.
Cowboys to watch July 22

Last year, Cole Reiner checked off a big item on his bucket list by tying for the win at the “Daddy of ‘em All.” That helped the Buffalo, Wyoming, resident qualify for his fourth Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR), where he finished the season in seventh place. Reiner is currently 15th in the world and hopes that CFD will make a difference in his 2024 season again. Today, a highlight will occur at Frontier Park when he competes in the bareback riding and watches his younger brother, Clay, in the steer wrestling.
JHLT to host free Greenspace concert Tuesday
JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole Land Trust (JHLT) is putting on this year’s free Greenspace on the Block concert on Tuesday, July 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. Headlining this year’s event is local band Outta Shorts. Concertgoers will find food options from Streetfood, Sweet Cheeks Meats and Saltlick Popsicles and drinks from Roadhouse Brewing and Troubador Selections.

UPDATE: JUly 25 at 10:47 a.m. The 20-year-old missing Wyoming woman Liana Welde has been found safe and unharmed Wednesday night. Air quality alert issued for Natrona County due to wildfire smoke
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Much of eastern Wyoming is now under an air quality alert until 1 p.m. Wednesday. On Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Cheyenne stated that Casper and other parts of the state are currently experiencing poor air quality conditions due to wildfire smoke originating from Canada and the Pacific Northwest.
