Waterfront entertainment spot The Wharf Fort Lauderdale is transforming itself into a permanent destination. Founded as a temporary pop-up back in 2019, the Wharf is now preparing to close for renovations that will make it a permanent Fort Lauderdale feature, says recent coverage by the Miami Herald .

The Wharf Fort Lauderdale is owned and operated by Breakwater Hospitality Group , the hospitality company, founded by Emi Guerra and Alex Mantecon , which brought South Florida concepts like Regatta Grove and JohnMartin’s . The Herald says The Wharf is set to close for several months before reopening with “new bar areas as well as what Guerra calls ‘upgraded entertainment options.’”

“We are thrilled about the future of The Wharf Fort Lauderdale,” Emi Guerra says in a statement cited by the Herald coverage. “From its inception, the Wharf has been a vibrant gathering spot for the community, helping to revive the riverfront.”

The renovations will be “in keeping with the growth in downtown Fort Lauderdale, now home to scores of new residential buildings and restaurants.”
