    Fort Smith man among two killed in Central Arkansas crash

    HAZEN, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Fort Smith man was one of two people killed in a crash in Central Arkansas that left four others injured on Monday morning, according to a crash report.

    The report said a 2018 Nissan was traveling west on Interstate 40 in Hazen in Prairie County around 1:56 a.m. as a 2008 Chevrolet was traveling east.

    The Nissan steered to the left near mile marker 198 and the Chevrolet steered right causing a head-on collision.

    Minor killed in crash involving semi in Sebastian County

    Cynthia Brown, 66, of South Carolina, and James C. Southerland, 47, were killed in the crash. Both were passengers in the Nissan, according to the report.

    The drivers in both vehicles were injured in the crash and two minors in the Nissan were also injured.

    Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, according to the report.
