    19-year-old dies in single-vehicle crash in Fort Smith

    FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Fort Smith man is dead after a single-vehicle crash that took place on July 21, according to a crash report.

    Luis Morales-Leiva, 19, was driving west on Rogers Avenue in a 2009 Nissan around 1 a.m.

    The report said near the 3400 block, Morales-Leiva, driving at a high rate of speed, lost control of his vehicle and hit a large sign in a parking lot.

    Morales-Leiva was in critical condition and life-flighted to a Little Rock hospital where he later died.

    Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, according to the report.
