Replacement announced for NC Rep. Jason Saine
LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A replacement has been named for Lincoln County Rep. Jason Saine who announced his resignation from the North Carolina General Assembly last week. Heather Hager Rhyne will fill Saine's seat in Raleigh. Rhyne currently serves as the chair of the Lincoln County Board of Education. She will run unopposed for the seat in November's election. Lane awarded Stallings, Harrell Education Scholarships
A recent Perquimans County High School graduate who plans to become a teacher was this year’s recipient of two scholarships named for former superintendents of the Perquimans County Schools. Vivien Lane, who is heading to East Carolina University in Greenville to pursue a degree in education, was the recipient earlier this year of both the 2024 Dwayne K.
