    Parkway Village celebrates resident’s 107th birthday

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Friday morning at Parkway Village , longtime resident Martha Brown celebrated her 107th birthday.

    The retirement community held a celebration in honor of Martha, who has spent her whole life in Little Rock.

    She and her husband raised two children, then Martha worked at Hall High School for 22 years as secretary to the principal.

    She has lived independently at Parkway Village since 2005 and has been a member of Immanuel Baptist Church since 1917.

    “I’ve never seen her say a mean word, she’s always cheerful, and she goes out of the way to greet everybody that she meets,” Ben Childers, an employee at Parkway Village stated.

    Martha said staying mobile and spending time with friends have been her key to a long life.
