    Man charged in Tulsa homicide after charges against him in Sapulpa homicide were dismissed

    UPDATE (8/14/24) — A man is charged with accessory to murder in a Tulsa homicide after charges against him in a Sapulpa homicide were dismissed.

    FOX23 told you 27-year-old Celestine Mason is charged with first-degree murder in connection to to a north Tulsa shooting near 46th Street North and M.L.K. Jr. Blvd that left 51-year-old Trayvis Watson dead on July 2. She was arrested on July 15.

    Another suspect, 26-year-old Keith Stewart, was arrested for first degree murder in connection to the shooting on July 8.

    According to an affidavit, homicide detectives learned that three people were present at the house when Watson was shot and killed. They were identified as Mason, Stewart and 25-year-old Bogi Maxwell.

    Maxwell, according to the affidavit, was driving the getaway vehicle.

    On July 15, Maxwell was arrested by Tulsa Police for an unrelated homicide in Sapulpa that occurred on July 4 . Sapulpa detectives issued the warrant for his arrest for first degree murder and possession of a firearm while on probation.

    A gun was found during a search of Maxwell's apartment on July 15. He is currently on a deferred sentence for another case.

    On July 30, the first degree murder charge against Maxwell in connection to the Sapulpa homicide on July 4 was dismissed.

    Sapulpa Police Chief Mike Reed told FOX23 after Maxwell was arrested, additional information was uncovered that "exonerated Maxwell and led us to another suspect."

    The second suspect, Drake Heath, was arrested on July 30 and confessed to the Sapulpa homicide.

    According to the affidavit, Maxwell gave a statement to Tulsa Police on July 31 and admitted he was at the home near 46th Street North and M.L.K. Jr. Blvd when Trayvis Watson was shot and killed on July 2.

    Maxwell told police he and Stewart went to the house to confront Watson and admitted he punched Watson in the chest.

    He stated Watson was trying to run toward his house when Mason shot and killed him, the affidavit said.

    Maxwell admitted he was the driver of the vehicle that he, Mason and Stewart then drove off in. He said he was there when the gun was disposed of and they all went to Turley to drop off the vehicle.

    According to the affidavit, Maxwell said he didn't see Watson in possession of a gun and and admitted Watson never threatened to go get a gun.

    The affidavit said as of Aug. 5, there is probable cause to issue a warrant for Maxwell's arrest for accessory after the fact to first degree murder and possession of a firearm while under DOC supervision.

    Maxwell is charged with accessory to murder in connection to the north Tulsa homicide.


    UPDATE (7/16/24) — Tulsa Police confirmed Celestine Mason was arrested for first-degree murder.

    TPD said Mason was taken into custody in Stillwater with help from Stillwater Police.

    According to court documents, Mason pleaded not guilty to the first-degree murder charge.


    Police are looking for a second suspect in a north Tulsa homicide.

    Another suspect, 26-year-old Keith Stewart, was arrested for first degree murder on Monday.

    Police said Watson, 51, got into an altercation in the backyard of his home and was shot after the altercation escalated. Watson managed to run back into his house where he died.

    Detectives identified Stewart as a suspect, and he was arrested and booked into jail Monday.

    Mason was also identified as a suspect and is wanted for murder.

    Detectives learned Mason was living in her van in the backyard of Watson's home for about a week before the homicide.
