Police investigate deadly auto-pedestrian crash in Thornton

DENVER (KDVR) — Thornton police said someone died on Friday night in a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

It happened in the 8700 block of Washington Street, according to a 9:35 p.m. post from the Thornton Police Department .

Northbound Washington Street was closed from Sheldon Drive to 88th Avenue and was expected to remain closed “for an extended period of time,” police said.

Drivers were encouraged to use Pearl Street or Corona Street as alternate routes.

No further information was immediately released about the victim or the circumstances of the crash.
