DENVER (KDVR) — The Arvada Fire Protection District announced Sunday that a 13-year member of the fire district had died in a motor vehicle crash.

“This is an unimaginable loss for Kyle’s family and our entire district,” said Arvada Fire Chief Kirk Lock, in the announcement. “Kyle was an exceptional public servant, friend, and colleague. He was relentlessly dedicated to learning his trade and bringing a high level of skill and courage to those in need.

“Kyle was a great friend to many,” Lock continued. “He leaves a lasting impression on all of those who were lucky to serve with him.”

Trombly started his firefighter career by volunteering at Fairmount Fire, then joined Arvada Fire. The agency shared that Trombly had been serving out of Station 1 A Shift since January 2023, and also served at Station 4 in his career.

Trombly was also an active member of the Arvada Fire Honor Guard.

The agency is requesting privacy as members grieve the loss. The department said it “stands ready” to support the Trombly’s during this mourning period. Grief counseling and resources are available to all Arvada Fire members.
