DENVER ( KDVR ) — The Denver Broncos hinted at the option of a new stadium, which could potentially change more than just the game day location.

On Thursday, the Broncos broke ground on the new training facility in Englewood. During a press conference afterward, the Broncos answered many lingering questions for fans. Much of this included questions about the new facility, while other answers alluded to the upcoming season and the potential future of the Broncos.

While the owner, Greg Penner, was answering a question about the new facility, he hinted that the Broncos were potentially interested in a new stadium.

“We’re evaluating options for a new stadium, potentially, and whether that’s on the current site or somewhere else, but we weren’t ready to make that decision at this point,” said Penner.

Meanwhile, the president of the team, Damani Leech, confirmed that it’s not out of the question.

“I’ve been getting the stadium question since day one, about two years ago. So, we’ll continue to get that. I think the answer is the same that it’s a pretty long process, we’re still evaluating everything,” said Leech. “Everything is on the table. We’ll continue to explore it and make a decision at a time that we think makes sense for us.”

With the idea of a new stadium incubating, Fox31’s Nate Belt spoke with Broncos superfan, Merry Brannon, who believes a new stadium might not be the best idea for the position the Broncos are in.

“It’s a disruption in a sense because we’re just, we’re still trying to find our groove and get our rhythm,” she said.

A new stadium could mean many changes for the Broncos, like the idea of a Super Bowl in Denver.

Denver has never hosted a Super Bowl, and with Empower Field, they most likely will never. The Mile High Stadium could never even think of hosting the game as one of the Super Bowl requirements includes a warm climate, with the exception of a roof over the stadium.

If the Broncos were to switch stadiums to match the Super Bowl requirements, like a stadium with a roof, it could change the game for the city. That said, the thought of a different stadium is still far out, according to Leech, and it might not even happen.
