DENVER (KDVR) — A 4-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a three-vehicle crash in Aurora on Saturday.

The Aurora Police Department said officers responded to the crash near East Smoky Hill Road and East Pheasant Run Parkway around 3 p.m.

A 29-year-old driver attempted a left-hand turn in front of traffic, and an oncoming vehicle struck the rear passenger door where the child was sitting, according to police.

Police said a preliminary investigation determined that the girl was not in a car seat.

Investigators do not believe alcohol or speed were contributing factors in the crash. No further information was immediately available.
