KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A taste of Canada is apparently coming to the Kansas City area, as Tim Hortons says it’s eyeing a location in Blue Springs.

Canada’s largest fast food chain tells FOX4 it’s looking to open a store at 1128 NW Woods Chapel Road, currently the site of a closed Burger King, which is just south of Interstate 70 at the Woods Chapel exit.

The location is fitting given that Restaurant Brands International (RBI) owns both Tim Hortons and Burger King.

Tim Hortons says it will keep the freestanding drive thru and is shooting to open either later this year or early in 2025.

Founded in Hamilton, Canada in 1964 by Hockey Hall of Fame player Tim Horton , what once was a single store has exploded into more than 5,400 locations worldwide. The restaurants specialize in coffee, donuts and “ Timbits ,” which bear a striking resemblance to donut holes, as well as many other fast casual menu items.

Outside of Canada, it’s expanded into 11 states in the U.S. There are no local job listings yet on its website.
