Eastbound I-435 back open after trailer fire closes part of interstate

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Overland Park Police asked drivers to avoid eastbound Interstate 435 at Quivira Road due to a disabled semi-tractor-trailer on Tuesday morning.

Police said all lanes of traffic on I-435 are now open.

According to police, A tractor-trailer hauling meat traveling eastbound on I-435 just past Quivira experienced an equipment malfunction, and the trailer caught on fire.
