(FOX40.COM) — The Placer County Air Pollution Control District and the country’s Health and Human Services team issued an air quality advisory Thursday due to smoke from the Crozier Fire burning in neighboring El Dorado County.

The advisory lasts through Aug. 11 and applies to Lake Tahoe and “lower foothill areas” such as Auburn, Colfax and Foresthill.

“Smoke impacts from Auburn to the east may be significant at times, especially in the Tahoe Basin, while areas to the west may experience occasional impacts, primarily during the overnight hours,” the county advised.

The county said it has set up portable air cleaners at the Health and Human Services Center in North Auburn and at libraries in Rocklin, Auburn, Colfax, Forest Hill and Kings Beach for residents looking to respite from the smokey conditions.

According to CAL FIRE, as of Friday morning, the Crozier fire has burned 1,705 acres since igniting early Wednesday.
