(FOX40.COM) — The body of a missing Placer County woman may have been found in Washoe County Nevada on Thursday, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said they found a woman’s body off Mt Rose Highway that they believe to be Patricia Portella-Wright, 48, of Kings Beach who has been missing since Aug. 3.

Portella-Wright was reported missing on Aug. 9 when she did not show up for work and had last been seen with her boyfriend Brent Clifford, 55, also of Kings Beach.

Clifford was arrested on Wednesday in Plumas County in connection to an Aug. 11 homicide in Reno, according to the sheriff’s office.

He is being held at the Placer County jail and is facing a charge of murder.

Law enforcement began searching the Mt. Rose Highway after gathering information throughout their investigation.

With the use of drones, investigators located the woman’s body on a steep embankment and are now working with the Washoe County Search and Rescue Team to recover the body.
