INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting Thursday morning near Washington Square Mall.

According to a news release from the department, officials responded to the 900 block of N. Mitthoefer Rd. at around 11:51 a.m. on Thursday. A police run shows the call came from a strip mall located across the street from the mall at the intersection of 10th and Mitthoefer.

32 arrested, at least 27 suspects still wanted in central Indiana drug bust

When officers arrived, they reportedly found two individuals with gunshot wounds.

Both individuals were reported to be in stable condition, the release said.

In an update from police, officials said the people who were shot were “uncooperative with the investigation” and were transported to an area hospital.

The location that police were dispatched to was found to not have been where the shooting happened, officials said in the update. IMPD said that there was a reported time delay in the victims reporting the shooting.

According to a police report, issued Thursday afternoon by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officials said the original location of where the shooting occurred was on the far east side of Indianapolis.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
