INDIANAPOLIS — Police investigated a reported assault on the northeast side of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon.

A public police report indicates officers were called to the 3900 block of Breen Drive around 2:46 p.m. on a report of a person stabbed. IMPD’s report on the incident shows that police did identify a victim during their investigation.

Police indicated the victim was in stable condition. A bat was recovered from the scene and two vehicles were towed out of the area.

IMPD’s report does not specify what roles the bat and the two cars played in the incident. It is also unclear exactly how the victim was injured. Police later indicated that a second adult was stabbed during the incident.

Police arrested one person during their investigation — 37-year-old Garry Lubin. Per the report, he was preliminarily charged with battery with a deadly weapon and intimidation with a deadly weapon.

Both preliminary charges are Level 5 felonies. The maximum penalty for a Level 5 felony in Indiana is a six-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000.
