    Kokomo woman struck by vehicle doing burnout at car show

    KOKOMO, Ind. — A woman was struck by a vehicle doing a burnout leaving a Chrysler Car Show in Kokomo on Sunday afternoon, according to a news release from the Kokomo Police Department.

    At around 2:42 p.m. on Sunday, officers with the Kokomo Police Department were called to the Kokomo Casting Plant on South Reed Road in reference to a person who was reportedly struck by a vehicle.

    A woman who was attending the car show, identified by police as a Kokomo resident, was reportedly standing in the grass on the west side of U.S. 931. A Greentown man who was leaving the car show reportedly turned south on U.S. 931 in a 2006 GMC 1500.

    The release said the the GMC attempted a burnout and eventually lost control, spinning into the crowd at the car show. The Kokomo woman was struck, along with another vehicle that was at the car show.

    First responders responded to the scene after the accident and the Kokomo woman was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The incident is currently under investigation by the Kokomo Police Department.
