Mocksville woman wins $250,000 after buying $5 scratch-off at gas station

MOCKSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — Arianna Porter, of Mocksville, bought a $5 scratch-off and won a $250,000 prize, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

Porter bought her winning 20X The Cash ticket from Farmington Road Shell on Farmington Road in Mocksville.

She claimed her prize at lottery headquarters Monday.

After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $178,751.

Watch lottery drawings on FOX8! Mega Millions airs at 11 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday. Powerball airs at 10:59 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The NC Lottery airs at 11:22 p.m. every night.
