Greensboro UPS driver wins $160,756 after buying $1 ticket

Cameron Vick, of Greensboro, has been a UPS driver for 37 years and told a man on his route that he would win the Cash 5 jackpot, and his prediction came true later that night with a $160,756 win, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

“I told him, ‘I’m going to win this one,’” he said.

Vick said he decided at the last minute to buy a $1 Cash 5 ticket online in the Aug. 20 drawing.

“It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing,” he said. “I really just decided to play out of the blue.”

Vick said that after he won he told one of his friends the big news.

“He hugged me and started crying,” Vick said.

He claimed his prize at lottery headquarters on Monday.

After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $114,941.

Vick said he plans to do some home repairs with his winnings.
