CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The city of Chillicothe is reminding residents that despite the statewide legalization of fireworks, they remain illegal within the city limits. According to city ordinance 1510.04, the possession, sale, or discharge of fireworks is prohibited in Chillicothe. The Chillicothe Police Department emphasizes that only individuals with an approved license can legally discharge fireworks within the city.

[CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – July 2, 2024] — The Circleville City Council is set to hear the first reading of an ordinance proposing the placement of a safety levy back on the ballot. This proposal, which originated from the finance committee, comes after two previous attempts to pass the levy failed in recent election cycles. In the most recent vote in March, the levy was narrowly defeated by just 51 votes, and the city hopes citizens will reconsider their stance.
Trash and recycling rates going up in the city of Chillicothe
CHILLICOTHE - The monthly rates for trash and recycling are going up in the city of Chillicothe. City Ordinances 32-24 and 33-24 passed by Chillicothe City Council on June 10, require annual adjustments. There will be an increase in city trash rates to $17 per month and in recycling rates to $4 per month effective in August. Rate adjustments are being made to accommodate for rising collections fees, equipment costs, and to ensure continued essential and supplemental services are being provided to residents.
