Wenner wants number of police hours increased
Police Chief Bob Wenner has requested an additional 30 hours per week for his force, bringing the total to 190 hours. He suggested using part-time officers at $20.62 per hour and promised to monitor the situation monthly with Borough Administrator Joe Sporer. Council President Jim Speth and Mayor Matt Carlson expressed the need to evaluate the new full-time officer’s integration before making changes. Additionally, the council approved the purchase of uniforms and equipment for a new patrolman, discussed a grant for the fire department, and announced community events, including a National Night Out and a car cruise.
