Mother and daughter arrested for battery

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Whitney Ineki Rnay Taylor, 31, and Olivea Lovetta Williams, 56, of Waldo, were arrested last night after allegedly attacking a woman after a party.

The victim told a Gainesville Police Department Officer that she was leaving a party at a home in southwest Gainesville at about 4:40 p.m. yesterday when Williams walked up to her and started yelling at her; the victim said she was holding her 15-month-old child at the time and was in fear for her safety and her child’s safety, so she pushed Williams away.

The victim said Williams repeatedly punched her while pulling her hair. A male witness tried to get between Williams and the victim and her child, but Williams allegedly kept punching the victim and pulling her hair. Williams allegedly pulled the victim and her child to the ground and continued to hit the victim. The witness reportedly separated Williams from the victim and her child by force.

The victim said she got into the witness’ car, and Taylor reached into the car and punched her in the head multiple times while pulling her hair. The officer reported that the victim had multiple marks and bruises on her face and head, but the child appeared to be uninjured.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy who later arrested Williams at her Waldo home noted that Williams is Taylor’s mother.

Post Miranda, Taylor reportedly admitted to being in the same vicinity as the victim after the altercation between Williams and the victim. She denied battering the victim.

Taylor has been charged with simple battery. She has one felony conviction (non-violent) and one misdemeanor conviction (non-violent) and three cases with grand theft charges that were later dropped. She has been released from the jail; bail information is not posted online on Sundays.

Williams has been charged with battery causing bodily harm and child abuse without great bodily harm. She has one misdemeanor conviction (non-violent). She has been released from the jail; bail information is not posted online on Sundays.
