On3’s No. 1 ranked linebacker in Loxahatchee (Fla.) Seminole Ridge blue-chipper Ty Jackson will be back at Florida on July 27, his father Semaj confirmed.

“Larry Williams from UF asked us a few months ago about locking the 27th in for a visit,” the elder Jackson said. “Ty had other schools wanting him to come up the same weekend but UF offered first. Ultimately it just fit into our family schedule better that weekend.”

This is the only scheduled trip of the month. Florida is battling Alabama, Florida State, Georgia and Penn State among others for Jackson’s signature.

Head coach Billy Napier and the Gators have had the coveted second-level defender on campus as much as any program at this point in Jackson’s process.

Jackson’s June official visit to Gainesville was insightful

Jackson was last on campus the weekend of June 14.

“It was good,” Semaj said at the time. “They rolled out the red carpet as expected. No shortfalls in that. Mainly a good opportunity to get 1-on-1 with the coaching staff. Spent a lot of 1-on-1 time with Napier, Austin Armstrong, (Ron) Roberts and a lot of other guys on staff. Not just talking Xs and Os, just getting to know them personally more than just the football aspect of it.

“Ty was mainly trying to get an in-depth look at the program from the current players. He was able to go out in the evening (with the linebackers) getting 1-on-1 time with the players and trying to get a rapport with them and get their thoughts on the program and what direction they’re headed in and can he vibe with them and get along with them in the locker room is what it’s all about for him.”

The GatorMade program really caught the Jackson family’s eye. Director of Player Relations Savannah Bailey impressed with her promotion of what it can do for their players.

“They did their presentation which stood out amongst all others,” Semaj said, adding it showed recruits like Ty what it would be like to balance a budget as a first round draft pick.

The Jackson family feels a strong connection with the Gators staff.

“Every time we go we get more familiar and learn a new area part of Gainesville,” Semaj said.

What’s next for Jackson following his Florida return

Jackson plans to take some game visits this fall and has an eye on the Florida opener against Miami. He will take his official visit to Florida State for the game against the Gators the last weekend in November.

Jackson isn’t expected to make a decision until Dec. 4 and the Early Signing Period.

On3 tabs Jackson as the nation’s No. 25 prospect overall. He racked up over 125 tackles, five forced fumbles and two interceptions as a junior.
