A 23-year-old Lake City man was sentenced Monday to 50 years in prison for a 2022 home invasion robbery at a southwest Gainesville apartment complex.

Kob’ie Trevellus Jaman Archer was sentenced by Judge Sean Brewer on Monday following an open plea by Archer on the second day of his trial in June on charges of home invasion robbery and attempted felony murder.

According to a release from the State Attorney's Office, on June 27, 2022, Gainesville police responded to the Enclave Apartments, 3000 SW 35th Place, in reference to a report of a person shot. Investigators arrived at an apartment to find Adam Christmas Sr. suffering from a gunshot wound. Detectives later determined that Archer was the person who shot Christmas.

Co-defendants Cedric Cohens II and Rahzon Tee-Yon Fennell-Demeritte have already been convicted in the case. Court records show Cohens pleaded guilty to home invasion with a firearm and was sentenced in May 2023 to five years in prison followed by 10 years of probation. Fennell-Demeritte pleaded no contest in January 2024 to charges of home invasion robbery with a firearm and attempted felony murder, and was sentenced to 10 years in a prison.

Another co-defendant, William Lamar Rowe, is scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday.
