Dave & Buster's, a popular Gainesville eatery known for its sports-bar ambiance and arcade games, recently faced scrutiny from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. The inspection, conducted on August 12th, resulted in a follow-up inspection requirement, highlighting a series of infractions that warranted further review.

The inspection uncovered seven violations, categorized as two high-priority, one intermediate, and four basic. The high-priority violations centered on temperature control for safety food and unsuitable storage of unhealthy substances.

The intermediate violation involved food-contact surfaces soiled with food debris, while the basic violations encompassed issues like improper container usage, damaged walls, and poor food-contact surfaces.

The initial inspection of the Alachua County restaurant revealed a concerning pattern of temperature control lapses. Chicken and fish items on the cook line were found to exceed the safe temperature threshold of 41 degrees Fahrenheit.

Additionally, the reach-in cooler housed Thai chili sauce and cut tomatoes above the acceptable temperature, highlighting a lack of proper temperature control measures.

An unhealthy substance, Dawn spray, was wrongly stored on a prep table, posing a potential issue.

The intermediate violation involved a can opener with dried food debris and four soda nozzles with buildup, indicating inadequate sanitation practices.

Despite the initial infractions, the establishment successfully addressed all concerns during a follow-up inspection on August 13th, resulting in a clean bill of health.

The restaurant's commitment to addressing these issues underscores its dedication to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for its patrons.

NOTE: Please note that an inspection report, per the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation, provides a snapshot of the conditions observed during the inspection.
