    Gastonia men arrested in ‘high-risk’ warrant, charged with armed robbery

    GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two men were arrested Friday in connection to an east Gastonia armed robbery following what officers are calling a high-risk search warrant.

    Accoring to the Gastonia Police Department, a victim was robbed at gunpoint in the Poston Circle area near East Franklin Boulevard. The victim’s names are not being released at this time.

    Gastonia Police looking across state lines to recruit officers

    Arrest warrants show that on Friday morning, officers located and arrested the suspects without incident at at a residence on Cape Breton Trail: 23-year-old John Robert Biggers and 18-year-old Devon McCollough.

    Jail records show Biggers was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.

    McCullough was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle. He was issued a bond hold.

    The Gaston County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Holly Police Department and Belmont Police Department assisted in this operation. This case is part of an ongoing investigation related to other incidents.
