Public DNR Elk Meeting Rescheduled
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resource is holding an in-person meeting on northwest elk management next month in Thief River Falls. The DNR plans to begin work on developing a “legislatively directed plan to enhance the size and range of Minnesota’s elk population”. Minnesota DNR elk coordinator Kelsie LaSharr says they will be providing an update on elk management and an upcoming research project. The Minnesota DNR has begun reaching out to private landowners in northwest elk range to seek permission to access private properties for the study.
Candidate’s gym membership termination upheld by Minnesota appeals court
The Minnesota Court of Appeals sided Monday with Life Time Fitness over a candidate for governor in a free-speech case. Life Time Fitness terminated Hugh McTavish’s membership in 2022 after the third-party candidate refused to remove campaign leaflets he had left on cars parked at the gym’s Bloomington facility.
