On Tuesday, July 16th, at approximately 6:52 p.m., Syracuse Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired on I-690 Eastbound, near the Teall Avenue exit. SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Social Security recipients are frequent scam targets, but an email sent to a large group of beneficiaries is legitimate, the agency says. The email notifies users of important changes to their accounts. It was sent to customers who created online accounts before Sept. 18, 2021. Those users had logins with “my Social Security” and need to transition to updated credentials with Login.gov.

Arrest made in alleged Cortlandville smash and grab
CORTLANDVILLE, NY (CortacaToday) – State Police announce an arrest in an alleged Cortlandville burglary after a months-long investigation. Benny Curry, of Syracuse, is accused of breaking into the Route 281 AT&T store on February 12 and stealing a cash register. Authorities say the 59-year-old smashed the front glass of the business to gain entry. Curry was arrested on Monday while serving time for an unrelated crime in Oneida County.
