In the Booming Tourism Sector, NYC Leads the Way

New York City — "The true New Yorker secretly believes that people living anywhere else have to be, in some sense, kidding," John Updike once said.

Apparently people from all across the globe agree...

...According to a report, NYC is now the number one tourist destination in the world. In 2023, over 60 million international visitors swarmed the City That Never Sleeps. Last year alone, tourists spent over $48,000,000,000.

Tourism is clearly a tremendous boost to the city's economy.

Most importantly for New Yorkers, the more tourists spend — the more that saves households.

In short, because tourist spending generated over $6 billion in tax revenue in 2023, that saved New Yorkers roughly $2,000 per household.
